Description

Solid wood printing block, with front stained red. This piece is a carving of the waving red section of a Union Jack flag. The flag section is situated in the middle of the block and covers an area approximately 21.0cm wide. In the bottom right corner is one section of a banner 10.5cm wide and 6.0cm long, at the widest point. Written backwards are the chiseled words "CARRY ON" with a groove separating the two words. On the left side, half way down is the second section of the banner approximately 7.0cm wide and 4.5cm long (tall). Written backwards on this section is the word "CANADA". Surrounding the red raised wood sections are circular chisel marks. Written in pencil on the back is the word "Red" and a stamped "No. 38", on a plain wood surface.
