Description

A ceramic statue of Chief Gold Feather.The statue has a First Nations man standing in front of a tree. The Chief has a red blanket over his left arm and a red blanket over his right shoulder and arm. There is a gold arm bracelet on his right arm and another gold bracelet on his left writ. There are 3 gold chains around his neck along with chest armour. There are 3 gold feathers in his hair one of which goes to the back of his hear. He is wearing chaps and is holding a rifle. On the ground below him is an ax, a basket, some rocks and a belt with bullets in it. One knee is bent over a rock. The statue was given to Mr. Jackson by his sister Mrs. N Snelgrove. The statue got broken in the flight from Ontario and was reconstructed by Mr. S. Langman. The statue was purchased from the Scenery Shop in Vancouver, B.C. There is a booklet on the statue describing the souvenirs from the shop and the booklet is for the Diamond Jubilee of the shop (1886-1946)
