Description
A 1 pound butter press. The press is wooden with a grooved striped pattern on the inside. The press is for squeezing out buttermilk in the butter's final stages then shaping the butter into a desired shape . To squeeze or shape the butter you must first chill the press for 30 minutes either by ice bath or refrigeration. Next you rinse the press with cold water and fill it with softened butter. From there you can press to remove buttermilk. When your butter is pressed you can smooth the bottom using your spatula then cover with butter wrap. You should let this chill for 2 or more hours. When solid you can run a knife along the outside edges of the press then push it out.
