Description
Two tiny red pencils labeled USA Tender Tootsies Ltd. There is not much information about the company or type of pencil. Around the 1900's, the Americans were using wood cased pencils, and experimenting with different type of wood for the pencil. Although during the globalization of the pencil it was introduced to Japan. Japanese characters required many fine details so with their pencils they focused to make the lead smaller. So around sometime instead of using the common graphite and clay they used a high polymer- organic materials that would be able to withstand more pressure. This hence forth lead to the creation of the mechanical pencil of today. There is no way of telling whether it is the high polymer or clay graphite due to lack of information on this pencil but it should be somewhere around this time period.
