Small vertical rectangular brass plaque commemorating the 400th anniversary of the landing of Jaques Cartier at Gaspe Harbour 24.7.1534. Capitalized text engraved in French then English. 
Marks/Labels
"Jacques Cartier. Pour commemorer le quatre centieme anniversaire de l'atterrissabe de Jacques Cartier a l'entree de ceport le 24 Juillet 1554" 
"In commemoration of the four hundredth anniversary of the landing of Jacques Cartier at the entrance to this harbour on 24th July 1534. Town of Gaspe."
