Description
Commemorative John G. Diefenbaker coin in rectangular clear plexiglass case with blue information card. Obverse of coin features likeness of John G. Diefenbaker's head, Diefenbaker's homestead, the Canadian Parliament Building, and maple leaves. Reverse features text celebrating Diefenbaker's 80th birthday and maple leaves.

Canada's 13th Prime Minister
He was born Sept. 18th, 1895 in Grey Country, Ontario.
At an early age his family homesteaded near Borden,
Saskatchewan, where his father taught school.
Educated at the University of Saskatchewan. He was 
first elected a member of federal parliament in 1940. He
became Progressive Conservative Leader in 1956 
and was sworn into office as Prime Minister of Canada
in June 1957.
This commemorative coin was struck in honour of his 
80th birthday, Sept. 18th, 1975.
