Wooden plaque with brass plaque attached. The wooden base is a rectangle shape with a point at the bottom centre. The edges of the wood have been beveled to give the plaque more dimension. The brass plate is affixed on top of the wood is secured at each corner with 4 flathead screws. The majority of the face of the plaque is black patina with the design and words etched into it, showing the lighter brass below. At the top of the etching are four maple leaves. Below the name Garcia is highly stylized with a figure of a fisherman wearing a hat and a side satchel casting a line from the rod which spells out the letters of the name. The final letter “a' shows the end of the fishing line with a caught fish, emerging from a splash of water. Below this design in all capital letters the plaque reads "Canadian Fishing Hall of Fame John G. Diefenbaker 1976" A small end mark rests at the bottom centre of the plaque. The back of the wooden panel base is unadorned, but there is a keyhole slot at the top middle for the purpose of hanging.
