Description

Rectangular wood printing block. Front: burgundy colour. On the right there is a 17.5cm long wavy line that is about 6.0cm from the top edge, and it begins at the right edge of the board. A 1.3cm wide line meets the wavy line at its end; it begins at the top edge. These two lines create a border around 5 small music notes that are arranged in a slight downward curve from the top left corner of this border towards the bottom right corner where the wavy line meets the right edge of the board. Below the wavy line there is the carved outline of 4 backwards letters which appear to spell "MART". The combination of the 4 letters is 15.2cm long and 9.2cm tall. Below this is another combination of a carved outline of backwards letters; it appears to spell "KENNEY". The combination of letters is about 29cm long and 10cm tall. Below this word is a 31.5cm long wavy line similar to the line in the top right portion of the wood. It begins at the edge of the right side and stops 3.5cm short of making it across to the left edge. A 1.0cm wide line begins at the top and left edges in the corner. It continues straight down the left edge for 17.5cm. The line then widens to become 3.9cm wide. It continues down along the left edge for 13.2 more cm. The width of the line then widens to 18cm and continues down to the bottom edge for 13.5cm. In this bottom section of the line there are 6 small music notes engraved into the wood; they are in a curved line from the top left corner to the bottom right. The top part of this widened line or rectangle is wavy and parallel to the long wavy line 0.4cm above it. There is also a tiny line engraved across the bottom of this rectangle, which is 1.0cm from the bottom edge. Sides: there is a label on the top side that has the previous temporary acession number on it Back: It is lined with strips of paper so that the whole book is covered. There are 5 vertical ones that stretch the entire length of the back, and 3 horizontal pieces, with only one stretching across the entire width of the board.
