Description
Wood printing block. Front: Stained red. In the bottom left corner there is a cut out section of the block. This block has four bevelled edges leaving approximately 0.5 cm space between raised portion and the edge on the left and bottom sides. The right bevel goes right to the edge of the block. Along the top, there is a space of 1.5 cm between the bevel and the edge. In the top half of the relief wood are the letters "E.J.C" written backwards. Each letter is approximately 14cm long and 8.5cm wide, and these letters are carved in a slightly upward and diagonal line to the left. After each letter is an indented circle about 2 cm wide. Carved below the 'J' and 'C' are the words "ALL CANADIAN" written backwards. These letters are the smallest on the block with each letter approximately 2cm wide and 1.5cm tall. "ALL' is centered above "CANADIAN" and both words are carved horizontally. Across the bottom section is the word "SHOWS" carved horizontally with each letter about 4.5cm wide and 10.5cm tall(long). E.J.C have cbeen carved with the circular chisel marks/carving marks. The space between the bevels and the true edge have residual red colour and scrape/chisel marks. Back: bottom left has rhe word "Red" written in red.
