Description
Solid wood rectangular picture block with the front stained yellow. Front: majority of the board has been chiseled down with a circular headed tool, leaving 4 relief circles and numerous relief lines. Starting in the top right approximately 4cm from the right edge is a circle with a diameter of 21.1cm. On the bottom right of the circle is a triangular point and circle like designs running vertically down. Down and slightly to the right of these circles is an unknown relief design approximately 2.5cm wide and 4.5cm long. To the left of this design approximately 2.5cm wide and 3 circles in varying sizes. The closest and smallest circle is 2.1cm in diameter and 3.2cm from the bottom edge. To the left is the largest circle 4.6cm in diameter and 3.3cm from the bottom edge, the left side has a small semi-circle cut out and the bottom left side has a small 0.5cm by 1.0cm rectangle cut out to examplify shine in the circle. The final circle is down and left of the largest circle and sits at the edge of the bottom, 2.3cm in diameter and 18.4cm from the right edge. Starting above the largest circle is the right end of a very elongated T like shape measuring approximately 26cm horizontally and and 4.5cm vertically; the vertical portion starting about 6cm from the left end. The lines of this "T" are not straight but almost a wave. In the left bottom corner begins another indistinguishable shape almost like a backwards lower case "r" approximately 4cm by 4cm. Rising vertically from the top of the "r" is a straight line 9.5cm long. To the left of the straight line is a 3 peaked shape approximately 6cm long on a diagonally up and right slope. The left most peak is the tallest with the other peaks almost the same height. This peaked (almost a w) shaped design then meets a triangular shaped design on an up and left diagonal 1.5cm from the right end. Right end is about 1cm wide and narrows to a point at 7.5cm. Total approximate length of the bottom left designs is 19cm. In the top right corner, about 7cm above the bottom left design, are two horizontal lines, approximately 6cm each, the bottom line angles slightly down and the upper line angles slightly up. They go from .5cm apart to 3cm apart shooting out, like rays from a sun. From these 2 lines are 4 shorter lines of varying lengths. Moving left to right in a semi-circle, the lengths of these lines are 2.5cm and 4.5cm, about 5.5cm apart and vertical. The enxt 2 lines are both diagonal, about 5cm in length and 5.5cm apart. The final relief design begins on the left side of the large, singular circle about 11.5cm from the top edge. This almost triangular design is about 15cm long by 4cm wide, however along the bottom there is a line extended to the right 4.5cm from the right edge. Below and to the right of this extension is one more horizontal line about 7cm in length. Yellow stain is concentrated to the relief areas with the negative space appearing more brown. Sides: plain wood with some residual yellow ink stain Back: "No. 94" stamped in the center (very faded). Also there is some residual yellow and red ink stains.
