Description
There are 2 pieces to this picture block. Block i Wood rectangular block. Main block of the 2 pieces. Front: stained red. Top edge has broken off (2015.1.125b ii), but if it was still attached there would be 2 cut outs of 21cm wide by 19cm long in the top left section cut out on a diagonal. The bottom left section depicts a less detailed version of the HULA stand (mentioned in 2015.1.125c). It is bordered on the top and bottom by raised lines creating a border; the top line is wavy, 21cm long, about 1cm wide and has vertical lines 1mm apart. The bottom border is 32.7cm long, 2.9cm wide and on the right side has the clowns feet. From the feet is a detailed outline of a chubby clown 32cm tall with 22 circles carved into his clown suit. The clown is 16cm at the feet, 10.5cm across the missile and keeps narrowing to the top of his hat. Sides: have black ink marks in the wood grain Back: "215" written in top left side and bottom right. Block ii Broken off of the top of 2015.1.125b (i). This piece outlines the top of the cutout and has a triangle design (relief), with the rest of the area recessed. This piece is 2cm thick, 22.3cm wide (horizontal) and 5.9cm long at the right end and narrowing to 2cm long at the left end. Broken off from the right end. Back: paper has been glued to the back Sides: black marks in the grain
