Description
Possibly tongue and groove wood picture block. The bottom right corner (front view) has a rectangular cut out measuring 2.4cm wide by 4.3cm long. The front of the block has been stained brownish-blue colour. Front: block has been carved down using a circular headed tool leaving the raised detailed version of a boy's face and hand. Beginning 5.8cm from the left edge and 4.7cm from the bottom edge is the outline of the boys right hand which appears to be pointing upwards and at a right diagonal. The hand measures 10cm from wrist to pointing finger and about 5cm from wrist to curled pinky. The beginning of the boys face is 7.3cm from the left edge and 24.5cm from the bottom edge. The boys face is at a slight down and right diagonal and measures 15.7cm across his hair (the widest points), 12.5cm from his ear across his ear across his eyes, 9.5cm from his neck across to his cheek, and 5.5cm diagonally from neck point to neck point, and 19.5cm from the top of his head to the starting point. Sides: residual blue stain and 2 cut marks where piece was removed Back: cuts where piece was removed and "Brown" is unwritten in pencil in the center
