Description
*Text Block* tongue and groove rectangular wood block. Front: Entire surface is stained burgundy. Block is a combination of letters done in relief with recessed areas carved with linear lines to define the letters. "JUNE" is spelled in capital letters, backwards, and fills the majority of the block. The "J" and "E" each touch the respective right and left edges of the block. The letters are separated by 1.3cm recessed gap in between each letter. Each letter is the maximum length of 16.8cm but with varying widths: "J"-- 11.6cm wide, "U"-- 11.9cm wide, "N"--12.6cm wide and "E"--10.5cm wide. Stain is slightly darker on the relief wood letters. Sides: Large amounts of stain, especially on the top and bottom. Black ink marks are visible in the wood grain. Back: Large amounts of residual red ink stain along the top edge. Remnants of paper left after being glued on and attempted removal. Black ink marks in the wood grain. Residual blue ink stain along the bottom edge.
