Description
*Background Block* Tongue and groove joined wood block. ***May be related to blocks 2015.1.27 a&b and 2015.1.112 a&b*** Front: stained red-mostly relief wood with 2 recessed sections in the top and bottom left corners. Bottom recessed section measures 34.3cm across the bottom from the bottom left corner, then it angles slightly up and left (maybe 80 degrees) for 9.7cm and then moves at a downward diagonal for 33.4cm before meeting the left edge 3cm above the bottom corner. Top left reecession is larger but mirrors a similar shape; moving across the top for 34.1cm then moving down and left (about 85 degree angle) for 10.3cm before following diagonally up and left for 33.5cm before meeting the left edge 3.7cm below the top corner. Ink is more concentrated on the relief areas. Some yellow stain is visible in the recessed sections. Sides: residual ink stains near relief area front edges-some ink stains in the wood grains on the left and right sides. Back: "Red" is handwritten in the center in pencil. Some ink smudges around the edges and in the wood grain.
