Description
*Picture/Text Block* Rectangular block consisting of tongue and groove joined wood with a zinc plate nailed on. Front: Block is mostly relief with words and designs recessed, except for the words inside the oval in the bottom 1/3 of the block where the words are in relief. Beginning in the top right corner, the words "FABULOUS AND AMAZING" are etched beginning 2.2cm from the top edge and 1.3cm from the right edge. The words occupy a space 19.2cm wide and 1.2cm tall (L). Below this text, 5.9cm from the top edge and 1cm from the right edge, is the word "DANCING" --29.1cm wide by 7.9cm long (for the D) and gradually narrowing to 5.2cm long at the "G". Letters have been carved at different angles to appear as though they are dancing. Carved underneath the "D", beginning 13.5cm from the top edge and 1cm from the right edge are 4 lines of text in a 7cm wide by 4cm long area: 1. "THE NEW WONDER" approximately 0.7cm long and 7cm wide, with "the: in italics. 2. "OF THE" 4.6cm wide by 0.5cm long, centered below the first line. 3. "ENTERTAINMENT"--0.8cm long and centered below the second line. 4. "WORLD!"-- 3.3cm wide by 0.8cm long and centered below the third line. To the left of this text block is the word "WATERS" 25.5cm wide by 6.4cm long at the "W" and narrowing to 5.6cm at the "s". "WATERS" is carved in the same style as "DANCING" to appear as though the letters were dancing. The next detailed section is in the center of the block and depicts several lightly etched pillars and curves of what is supposed to be dancing waters. There are about 5 arcs of water and 6 groups of pillars of water in a section approximately 14cm H by 34.6cm wide (about 14cm up from the bottom edge. The final section of detail occurs within a recessed oval 30.5cm wide by 11.5cm long (bottom edge about 2.5cm from the oval bottom). Oval has 2 deep recessed sections, one at the left end and right end with a lesser recessed section in the middle approximately 10cm wide by 11.5cm long at the widest point and tallest points. Written in relief on the lesser recessed area are 2 rows of text: 1. "Direct from"-- 7cm wide by 1.2cm long, and begins about 3.2cm from the top of the oval. 2. centered 2.4cm below the first row, are the words "where it thrilled" 9.9cm wide by 1.1cm long. Around the entire zinc plate is a 0.4cm groove where the plate has been nailed on. Back: plain wood with minor ink stains Sides: ink stains near the zinc plate--otherwise plain wood.Materials
