Description
*Picture Block* Tongue and groove joined wood block. It is the third block in a 3 block series. Front: The surface is stained yellow. The front surface is both recessed and relief. The relief wood is primarily used to fill in the negative space, but in some images it fills in the outlines made by the other blocks. The entire top right corner is covered by relief wood, and as it moves to the left, it fills in the space behind the top portion of the woman (recessed) described with the previous block. The bottom edge of this section of relief wood is jagged with triangle like shapes lining the bottom. This relief section goes down (from the top edge) 30.0cm, and covers the top half except for where the woman is supposed to be on the left side. A ladder stretches up from the bottom edge (left) to where the lady's body would be. It is 44.6cm tall and approximately 4.5cm wide (the width decreases with the growing height of the ladder). There are 4 rungs on this ladder. There are 2 relief shapes along the left edge. The first is similar to a rectangle except for the missing bottom left corner. It measures 4.6cm wide by 6.2cm long and is 6.9cm from the bottom edge. The second shape is also similar to a rectangle, but with the top right corner missing. It measures 5.3cm wide by 14.1cm long, and is right on the bottom edge. It's top edge is wavy and uneven. To the right are 2 ferris wheels side by side down by relief wood. The right one is 8.8cm wide by 16.5cm long, and the left one is 9.1cm wide by 20.8cm long. In the bottom right corner there are 7 relief shapes of various shapes and sizes where a fair scene should be. They are in a space of 17.2cm wide by 21.5cm. (Note: see picture for detail on the bottom right section). Sides: There is a label on the top side with the previous temporary number written on it. There are black ink marks that go across the top and bottom sides. Back: There is a strip of masking tape near the top with "DAG 276" written in red marker. Below it, the previous temporary number is written in pencil directly on the wood.
