Description

*Picture block* Tongue and groove joined square wood block. This is the second block in a 3 block series. This block fills in certain parts of the outlined picture made by 2015.1.192a, so the images made by this block are unclear. Front: Stained red. Primarily recessed with sections of relief which serve as the design. There are 2 layers to the recessed wood. It is all flat (except for relief wood) until a section along the left edge and an area on the left half of the top edge where the wood is recessed deeper into the block. The area on the top edge is 14cm wide by 6.2cm long. The area on the left edge is less distinct and measures approximately 12cm long by 3.8cm wide. Right below this section is a 16cm long horizontal wavy relief line beginning from the left edge. There are 11 small relief shapes below this line in an area of 15cm wide by 4cm long (tall). To the right of the line is a curved tent like shape with 4 columns supporting it measuring 13cm wide by 9.4cm tall. There is a curved design recessed into the top right of the tent-like shape that goes across the entire width. On the top right half of this shape is a 14cm tall by 1.3cm wide candle-like relief shape. Along the bottom are 2 parallel relief curves. The first is just a line, and the middle is 5.2cm up from the bottom. The second curve is about 1.1cm below the first. This curve is not a line, it is filled in, with sections recessed into it. Moving up into the middle area above the wavy line and tent are 8 relief shapes made up of lines. There are 5 in a vertical line on the left and 3 in a similar line on the right. Sides:Small dots in horizontal lines in the wood on the right and left sides. Back: 2 strips of paper glued to the back in the bottom left area. There is a strip of masking tape in the top right with "DAG 310" written on it in red ink. There are 2 metal hooks in each top corner for hanging this block on a wall. The previous temporary number is written in pencil directly on the wood near the middle.
