Description
*Accent Block* Square tongue and groove wood block. Part 2 of a four block (lithographic, blue, red, yellow) series. Front: Stained dark blue--mostly recessed with relief wood providing accent pieces to the picture from 2015.1.193a. Wood has been recessed using a circular headed tool. Beginning at the bottom, in a section 7.5cm tall by 33.0cm wide, are several little relief wood shapes, most around 0.5cm by 0.5cm, which provide additional detailing to the crowd, carousel, spinning car ride from block 2015.1.193a. Moving up the right edge is a relief circle 7.9cm in diameter, about 12.5cm up from the bottom edge. Recessed within this circle is detailing for the ferris wheel of 2015.1.193a. 4cm above this is a second circle 2.5cm in diameter, with 2mm indented semi-circle on the left side (not a true circle). 11.5cm above the bottom edge on the left edge is a third/final circle measuring 10.5cm at the widest point--also not a true circle as in the final production the woman's hair covers part of this circle. Finally, in between these circles, beginning 1.7cm down from the top edge and 13.2cm from the right edge, is a section 8.5cm wide by 10.5cm long featuring three shapes that shade in her hat, and 2 circular shapes below them which outline the woman's eyes. Sides: Plain wood with ink stains in the wood grain and along the edges nearest the block front. Back: Ink stains in the wood grains. Around the edges, but more noticeably along the top and bottom left edges, are several fingerprint marks in blue, red and yellow ink. In the top left corner are 2 purple ink stamps of "T225", partly overlapping the fingerprints. "Blue" has been handwritten in pencil on the center of the block.
