Description
*Accent Block* Rectangular tongue and groove block. Front: Stained yellow--mostly recessed using a circular tool leaving relief wood for detail. Possibly depicting a clown--would have been from a Conklin poster--due to slogan "WORLD's FINEST" in the bottom left. Starting at the bottom is a 31.7cm wide by 1.8cm long border strip, along the bottom edge. At 12cm along the top edge of this border, is an extension piece which curves up and around to meet the left edge 9cm above the bottom border. Max height of this circular design is 16.9cm long. Written inside this circle is "WORLD's FINEST" on two lines centered in the circle and above one another, (13.8cm wide by 6.3cm long). 4.3cm above the bottom border is a second horizontal line--touching the right edge 9.9cm wide by 1.1cm long. There are then four designs believed to be part of a clown: (1) 5cm above the 2nd horizontal line--a design that looks like a clown's sleeve cuff 9cm wide by 3.4cm long in total, comprised of 2 curved linear shapes, separated by a groove. (2) 3.4cm above the cuff is a dot shape (which could be part of his costume) measuring 1.9cm by 1.9cm. (3) 2.6cm to the left is a rectangular shape, with a scalloped top edge about 14.5cm wide by 3.7cm long which could be the clown's collar. (4) 7.7cm above the collar are 2 shapes which could be eyebrows. The final relief design is a border around the top, left and right sides measuring 31.7cm wide by 1.1cm long along the top; 31.2cm long by 1.8cm wide along the left and 13.6cm long by 1.7cm wide. Sides: Residual ink stain in the wood grain and along the front edges near the relief designs. Back: "Yellow" has been handwritten in the center in pencil. Dark stains (ink) in the wood grains, outer edges and very center of the back.
