It is a rectangular block of wood with a hand carved relief of the letter "D" backwards. The surface of the relief appears to be varnished and is stained purple and dark blue. The carved down surface is dark blue. The back is minimally marked with dark blue, brown and red ink. The top and bottom edges are chipped. Materials
