It is a rectangular block of wood with a carved relief of the number "8" (movable typeface). Original coat of varnish is still evident and the pattern of the wood grain is still evident. The relief surface is a vibrant red and the carved down portion is a matte rust colour. The carving marks are evident on the carved down portion. The back is slightly discoloured with dirt/grime and marked with red ink. Materials
