It is a rectangular block of wood with a carved relief of the letter "P" backwards (movable typeface). Relief is dark red/ Burgundy and pattern of the wood grain is evident in areas. Carved down portion is a duller dark red/Burgundy and wood is pitted in areas. Entire surface covered in dust. The old accession number is also written on the bottom edge in permanent marker. The back appears to be varnished and is marked with dark red, brown and black pigment around the edges. Materials
