It is a rectangular block of wood with a carved relief of the letter "A" (movable typeface). The surface is smooth/ glossy as the original coat of varnish is still evident. The relief is yellow with patches of auburn and black pigment. The carved down portion is dark and light green. The back is discoloured due to time and dirt/grime. Also marked with black, red, green and dark blue pigment. Materials
