It is a rectangular block of wood. The pigment has naturally darkened with time/use and the original coat of varnish is still evident. The front surface is a combination of auburn/Burgundy and a pale brown. The back is discoloured and marked with born, red and black pigment. Also has curved raised lines across the surface. Materials
