Description

It is a rectangular block of wood with a hand carved relief of the letter "B" (movable typeface). The relief is dark red with areas of black. The carved down portion is borne/burgundy and the carving marks are evident. The back has two strips of glued on paper on the left and right  sides (approx 6.5x19cm). The visible wood is discoloured with dirt/grime and is marked with faded brown, black and red pigment. A 0.5x2.5cm piece of wood Jas be carved/cut off the top right corner.
