It is a rectangular block of wood with a hand carved relief of the number "$" backwards (movable typeface). The relief is matte dark red. The carved down portion is marked with dark red, colour of wood evident and carving marks are evident. The back is entirely covered in glued on paper. The paper is yellowed and slightly marked with faded red pigment. Materials
