Description

It is a square block of wood with a hand carved relief of the letter "N" (movable typeface). The relief is smooth/glossy as the original coat of varnish is still evident and the pigment has naturally darkened with time and use. The surface is dark burgundy and black. The back appears to have been part of another block as there are carved letters. Half of a large "P" is evident and the letter "NES". The relief/negative space is dark burgundy and black. There are also vertical carved line on the left side.
