It is a square block of wood with a hand carved relief of the letter "C" (movable typeface). The pigment has naturally darkened with time and use. The relief is light brown and auburn. The carved down portion is dark red and black and carving marks/dents are evident. The back is yellowed and also discoloured by dirt. Marked by faded dark black, green and red pigment. Materials
