It is a square block of wood with a hand carved relief of the letter "C" (movable typeface). The relief surface is smooth/glossy as the original coat of varnish is till evident. The pigment has naturally darkened with time and age. The relief is deep dark burgundy and black. The carved down portion is dark brown and the carving marks/dents are evident. The back appears to have been part of another block at one point dud to carved words on the back. In addition to partial letters, the readable letters are "IN", "ING" and "OR" backwards.
