George Hunt Jr. (b. 1958) is an accomplished multimedia artist with a practice in acrylic painting, carving, serigraph printmaking, traditional dance, and drum design. Born and member of the Kwagiulith Band of the Kwakiutl Nation, Hunt Jr.s work both centres and reimagines a learned practice in carving from many established artists including his father, George Hunt Sr., and grandfather, Mungo Martin. Hunt is also a recognized traditional dancer, and member of the respected Hamat'sa dance society at age of 16.
