George Pennier (b. 1957) is a multimedia artist with an established practice that explores silkscreen printing, acrylic painting, and sculptural investigations of wood, masks, totems, and vessel wares. Informed by local Coast Salish and Sts’Ailes styles, Pennier first began carving in the 1970's, growing his skills in the following decacdes through collaboartive work and apprenticeships with known artists Tony Hunt, Beau Dick, Francis Horne, and Floyd Joseph. Pennier's work continues to sell in auction today (KATILVIK, 2024).
