Ralph Allen

Ralph Allen (b. 1926 Raunds Northamptonshire, d. 2019 Kingston Ontario) was a Canadian painter known for his figurative and abstract works. He received formal art training at John Class College of Art (1948-1950), and the Slade School of Fine Art (1950-1954). Allen would later have a career as a fine arts professor. His art has been exhibited locally and internationally including the Douglas Gallery, Vancouver (1967); Gallery Moos, Toronto (1965); New Contemporaries, London (1952); National Gallery, Ottawa (1961); Edward Day Gallery Kingston and Toronto Ontario (1998, 1999); and the Waddington Gallery, Montreal (1960). Allen also was awarded the Hadassah Prize, the Baxter Award, and the Jesse Dow Prize.
