History of Use

Carl Olson was born in the Val Marie hospital on Feb. 15, 1955. Carl attended school up to grade 10 at the Val Marie Schoolhouse, and then went to Swift Current Comprehensive High School starting in 1971. Carl was an active member of the 4-H club and would haul long-horn steers to local towns for rodeo stock. He also loved nature and spending time out in the hills near 70 Mile Butte. Carl frequently went to visit Walt Larson and hear his stories. On his way back to school on June 5th, 1972, Carl was in a car accident and passed away.
