Description
Brittania ware, fluted and paneled sides, wood knob. Philip Ashberry & Sons, Sheffield
Teapot made of Britannia metal. Britannia metal was a leadless pewter, a tin-aluminum alloy with a fractional proportion of pewter. It ousted pewter because it was harder, cheaper to work, and had a more silvery sheen.
