Black and white picture of a street in Shaunavon, Sask. Written in the upper right corner in black ink and circled “23”, written to the left of it in grease pencil “51” also written on the picture in grease pen “Mercantile Bank and Empress”. Picture is of a business street in Shaunavon, Sask. there are some horses and carriages also quite a few people lining the street. Buildings visible in the photo from right to left: Brown - Naismith The Hardwaremen, J. Bucknell Jeweler, Fowlie’s Drugstore, McNicol & Brown General Mercantile, ?, Rex Cafe, Empress Hotel, C.P.R. Station, ? Cafe, Regent Cafe and Mercantile Bank. Written on the back of the photograph in pencil “Empress Hotel. Burned 1914”, the number “8” is also stamped in black ink in the bottom right corner.~root~>
