Description
Carved dog team and sled (train) from Rev. Ibbs Avery collection - Norway House, Manitoba.
Team has four carved black dogs, one behind the other, all connected to each other with a string. Team is pulling a light brown wooden sled (which was handcrafted, not carved: numerous pieces of wood cut to shape and tied together with string to create sled) with a carved individual dressed warm (as painted on, it looks like individual is wearing a white jacket with a blue and red line on bottom of jacket with hoodie over the head and is wearing yellow pants with black and white boots), sitting on a carved square blue seat.
Carved objects are all painted, this doesn't include sled. Object was all handcrafted, with some parts being carved. Team and sled is glued to a flat piece of wood.
Cannot date exactly but possibly circa 1900s to 1940s.
