Description
Gas Iron made by Standard Iron Co, Patented Aug 9, 1910. Mansfield, Ohio. The fuel container (does not have a lid) is flat on three sides and is rounded on the front side ant the top. There is a tube at the bottom of the container for the fuel to go into the iron. Attached to the fuel container is a black wood handle. The handle is attached with a bolt that also attaches to the cast iron plate above the iron. There is a hand shield just below the handle. The plate is attached to the base with two bolts. On the opposite side of the iron from the fuel container is a semi-circular guard and the adjusting screw for the flame control is beneath the guard.  There is a plate attached to the base that ha 4 holes on each side to ignite the furl to heat the iron. The base of the iron is polished  steel .
