Description
Spencer made by Spencer Buffalo USA. The Serial number on the microscope is 51420. The microscope would be used to read slides and is a manual microscope. There are 3 removable and turnable magnifying lenses each with a different serial number and strength. The first lens is made by Spencer and Buffalo and is 44 x and the serial number on this lens is 127391. At the bottom of the lens where the magnification is shown there is another number 4MMN.A.O.70. The second lens is 44x magnification and has the crest on it for Spence Buffalo. There is a serial number 127939 engraved on the lens. Along with another number at the bottom of the lens 4MMNA.O.70. The third lens is  95X and also has the stamp for Spence Buffalo. The serial number for the third lens is 128233. There is no other number on this lens. There is a single eye viewer. The stage for the slides is metal and has two clips to hold the slides. There are brass adjustment wheel-one for fine and the other for coarse adjusting. The nosepiece is concave black metal and holds the 3 brass lenses. The arm is also black metal as is the base. The light source is a mirror with a black metal holder. The microscope was used by Dr. Kiteley.
