Description
A cistern hand pump. The pump was used to pump water from the cistern to the house. The pump has been painted silver and is made of cast iron. The spout on the pump is shaped like a trough-there are sides but no top. The handle for the pump has 55-134 Beatty Bros. Limited, Fergus Ontario. On the base of the pump is No. 1. The top of the pump is attached to the base with screws and bolts. The base has a round edge and the opposite side is flat. There are holes drilled into the base-one on each side of the flat edge and one in the centre of the round edge. The pump appears to have been professionally painted silver
