Description
An asbestos 72-B Sad Iron.. There was asbestos under the hood of the iron. The asbestos kept the iron hot but the handle would stay cool. This was the main selling point of the iron-hot iron but cool handle. The iron has a wooden handle that is attached to a metal plate that curves around the top the the iron (hood). There is a leaver with a wooden handle that disconnects the iron from the base so that more than one iron could be used-i.e. one heating and another one warming up. The base of the iron has the label on it and is extremely heavy.
