A manual egg beater. The large gear is labelled "Las NO.40 made in U.S.A." to operate the tool you would hold the handle on the top , spin the large gear with the handle and that would trigger the two whisks attached to spin around each other. Much like an electric mixer but without electricity. The beater was donated to the museum in 1989 shortly after the owner turned 100 years old.
