Description
A large edition of "The Home Knowledge Atlas". It is a maroon coloured book with the binding falling apart.

The book is filed to the brim with information. There are maps of the world, maps of the stars with their constellations , pages indicating "promised lands", the capitals of each country, territorial expansion pages & much more.

Corrected to July 1st, 1899. Copyright secured by George F. Cram in the same year. Published Toronto: Home Knowledge Association, [1899]. " Entered according to act of congress in the year 1899 by George F. Cram, in the office of the librarian of congress at  Washington" - T.p. verso.

The atlas was given to the museum from Riverhurst School in 1976 roughly around the time the school closed.

Sadly on page eleven somebody wrote " youre stupid map" and " 0 ??????* map". On another page there is a hand drawn map from Moose Jaw to Riverhurst Sk. It mentions places such as Moose Jaw, Central Butte, Lawson, Gilroy and Riverhurst. There is also a page on "The Empire Of Alexander The Great" bookmarked with an old newspaper clipping. The clipping is an article on " Late Summer Pastoral" with no obvious relevance to the atlas.

As for physical condition: interior pages are ripped and the front & back covers are just laying on the book, as the spine connecting the two is gone. Pages are still bound inside. Then Material on the front cover is peeling off.

*(????) = unreadable
