Description
A postcard featuring a black and white photo of the main street in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, when the town was first being established, around 1913-1914. The picture shows a row of false-fronted buildings along a dirt street. Some of the buildings have signs on them, including “SHAUNAVON MEAT MARKET,” “WAVERLY CONFECTIONERY,” “THE TRADING CO.,” and “DRUGS,” with the hotel on the far left end of the street. The postcard belonged to Archie Minish who worked at a hardware store in Shaunavon, SK, during the town’s early pioneer days. Identical to 2002.6.3
