Written in pencil on back: "Left of flagstaff - beard, white helmet, Commissioner Irvine, left of him, beard, no helmet, Inspector J.F. Dickens, youngest son of Charles Dickens. Taken from letter of George Shepherd, West Plains, Sask, Jan. 15th, 1932. N.B. I would say that the identifications have been made from the viewer's point of view, therefore, in the picture there would be on the right. DJR". Large group of NWMP and First Nations people
