Black and white photograph, centre street, west side, 100, 200, 300 blocks, in Shaunavon. Buildings identifiable from left to right: Campbell Commercial Cafe [May - August 1914], Billiard Hall, Empress Hotel & Bar, Rex Cafe, Josh Wood’s Men’s Clothing, Bransted’s Pool Hall, Iverson’s Bowling Alley, Stedman’s Real Estate, unknown, Pioneer Hardware / Trading Company, McNicol & Brown General Merchants, Fowlie’s Drug Store, Buchnell’s Jewelry, Brown & Naismith Hardware, Hotel Kennedy.... Graham and Wood Real Estate sign is visible and was on the east side of the 100 block W.
Empress Hotel was built Dec 1913 and was destroyed by fire Dec 1914. Fire also destroyed the Billiard Hall and Cafe to the south.
