Description
Black and white photo of early Shaunavon, written on tape attached to the picture in blue ink from left to right “This tent has a sign at front end, saying Lodging, Stedman house (Insurance), Mike McConnell (Contractor), George Barr Sr. house (Lumber), Lucien Tourigny (Barrister), Grandma Phalen’s (Ed, Rose & Jack’s mother), Bill King, Baker lived here and Christ Jensen, Sheriff W.J. Smith here, First Street East, Secord lived here & Slim Barcley, Mrs. Pat Ganley, later and children - Philip, Evalyn, Jerome, Patricia, Mrs. Cecilia Warner and grandchildren Elliot, Maxine and Eleanor Neese, Hugh Stevenson building house (General Store), B.O. Thompson (Lumber) now Kindopp, Isaac Lovell barn & house (Livery) and Ephrain Gee house (Barrister).” In the upper right corner “12 (inside a circle)”. Some of the photographic material is missing in the upper right corner also. Written on the back in pencil “46” on each picture, an “a” has been added to the 46 in the left picture in black grease pencil.
