King, Andrew
1912 – 1958
It is a rectangular block of wood with a carved relief of the letter "A" (moveable typeface). The original layer of varnish is still evident and the pigment has naturally darkened with time and use. The surface is dark Burgundy but the carved down portion is matte. The carving marks/dents are evident in the carved down portion. The old accession number is also written in permanent marker on the bottom edge. The back is discoloured with dirt/grime and varnished. The entire surface is almost entirely marked with red and black  pigment.
