Wood, Block

King, Andrew
1912 – 1958
Rectangular wood block with a carved relief of the letter "N". The wood is strained with dark burgundy ink. The old accession number is written on the bottom edge in sharpie and on a sticker. It seems to be glazed, which is unique in comparison to the rest of the King wood block collection. There is a approx 5.5 cm x 3 cm area on the letter that is stained with orange-red ink. White paint is speckled on the bottom edge. On the back the majority of that side of the wood is stained with black and dark red ink. The edges of the block are minorly chipped. It also has vertical and horizontal added black lines.
