Brown Mesh Overdress (1915)

Description Brown sheer dress cover that opens on the front and fastens only at base of chest, suggesting it is meant to be worn over another dress. The mesh material is a medium brown colour while the floral embroidery that covers the entire garment and is a darker brown. The garment also has long bell sleeves, a dark brown string belt, and the hem is a zig-zag made from the points of five panels sewn together with brown fabric-covered baubles that dangle from the hem, wrists, and belt.
