Long black evening dress made from sheer silk chiffon. It has sequins around the bust, and mesh flaps with sparkles hang on either side of the neck over the chest. The dress also has three-quarter sleeves, shoulder pads and a zipper down the left side. The zipper might have been added at a later date, as it looks altered from its original state.
The dress belonged to Faye Burroughs, wife of Dr Harold Burroughs. They lived at 233 Lorne Street East, and Dr Burroughs worked c. 1914-1949 at the Healy Booker Block. Mrs Burroughs was widowed by 1955.
